I. Analysis of China's rare earth price market in September 2026

According to CTIA GROUP, in September 2026, the price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products in China showed slight pergence: praseodymium-neodymium prices rose slightly, while dysprosium-terbium prices fluctuated downward.

In September, the price of praseodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 2,000/ton, up 0.26%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 10,000/ton, up 1.37%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal increased by approximately RMB 12,000/ton, up 1.36%; the price of terbium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 240/kg, down 3.55%; the price of dysprosium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 20,000/ton, down 1.37%; and the price of dysprosium-iron alloy decreased by approximately RMB 50,000/ton, down 3.50%.

On the light rare earth market, with the arrival of the traditional consumption peak season in September, many magnet material enterprises increased their stockpiling enthusiasm. Coupled with limited increments in spot supply of raw materials and strong production cost support, mainstream suppliers rationally raised their quotations. On the medium and heavy rare earth market, against the background of weak supply and demand and relatively cautious future market expectations, some suppliers appropriately lowered their quotations out of consideration for alleviating tight funding pressure.

II. Average prices of rare earth products in September 2026

In September 2026, the prices of most Chinese rare earth products increased month-on-month. Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was RMB 771,955/ton, decreased by approximately 1.07% month-on-month, and increased by 20.09% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was RMB 766,409/ton, decreased by approximately 1.27% month-on-month, and increased by 19.48% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was RMB 732,545/ton, increased by approximately 0.49% month-on-month, and increased by 26.81% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was RMB 885,045/ton, increased by approximately 0.22% month-on-month, and increased by 23.90% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was RMB 6,685/kg, increased by approximately 0.07% month-on-month, and decreased by 7.56% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was RMB 1,445,455/ton, increased by approximately 1.55% month-on-month, and decreased by 11.18% year-on-year; and the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was RMB 1,401,364/ton, increased by approximately 2.22% month-on-month, and decreased by 11.57% year-on-year.

From July to September 2026, the prices of most Chinese rare earth products increased quarter-on-quarter. Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was RMB 789,561/ton, decreased by approximately 3.03% quarter-on-quarter, and increased by 37.91% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was RMB 784,682/ton, decreased by approximately 2.95% quarter-on-quarter, and increased by 38.07% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was RMB 740,606/ton, increased by approximately 0.24% quarter-on-quarter, and increased by 36.99% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was RMB 898,015/ton, decreased by approximately 0.53% quarter-on-quarter, and increased by 35.30% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was RMB 6,714/kg, increased by approximately 8.78% quarter-on-quarter, and decreased by 6.15% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was RMB 1,430,152/ton, increased by approximately 5.41% quarter-on-quarter, and decreased by 12.91% year-on-year; and the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was RMB 1,383,636/ton, increased by approximately 4.38% quarter-on-quarter, and decreased by 13.24% year-on-year.

From January to September 2026, the prices of most mainstream Chinese rare earth products increased year-on-year. Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was RMB 799,146/ton, increased by 61.69% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was RMB 793,995/ton, increased by 62.74% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was RMB 742,168/ton, increased by 57.56% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was RMB 905,622/ton, increased by 56.43% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was RMB 6,396/kg, decreased by 6.35% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was RMB 1,414,324/ton, decreased by 14.74% year-on-year; and the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was RMB 1,377,189/ton, decreased by 14.81% year-on-year.
