Light Rare Earth Prices Under Pressure - October 26, 2026

Analysis of Latest Rare Earth Market from Chinatungsten Online

On Monday, China’s rare earth market as a whole showed a divergent trend of slight weakness in light rare earths and steady operation in medium and heavy rare earths.

Today, the prices of praseodymium oxide and neodymium oxide decreased by RMB 3,000/ton and RMB 2,000/ton, respectively, while the prices of terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide remained temporarily stable at RMB 6,380,000/ton and RMB 1,420,000/ton, respectively. The scrap market moved in tandem with raw material trends, with praseodymium-neodymium series recycled material prices edging down, while dysprosium and terbium series scrap prices remained stable.

According to Chinatungsten online, current downstream demand is relatively weak, with sluggish order release from industries such as new energy, wind power generation, and electronics, and magnet material enterprises mostly purchasing on demand, resulting in relatively few actual transactions. However, supported by production costs, smelting enterprises have weak willingness to ship at low prices, effectively limiting the room for significant declines in light rare earth prices, and the short-term market is mainly characterized by weak consolidation.
