Analysis of Latest Molybdenum Market from Chinatungsten Online

This week, China’s molybdenum market showed a continuous downward trend, mainly affected by the continuous weakening of steel tender ferromolybdenum prices and the continuous cooling of the international molybdenum market. Suppliers' panic sentiment heated up, and their willingness to reduce prices for shipments was relatively strong. However, supported by production costs, some holders' willingness to hold back sales and support prices strengthened somewhat.

According to Chinatungsten online, this week, the price of ferromolybdenum decreased by RMB 8,000/ton, down approximately 2.36%; the price of molybdenum concentrate decreased by RMB 140/mtu, down approximately 2.57%; the price of ammonium tetramolybdate decreased by RMB 9,000/ton, down approximately 2.77%; the price of molybdenum powder decreased by RMB 23/kg, down approximately 3.74%; and the price of molybdenum oxide decreased by RMB 140/ton-degree, down approximately 2.52%.

In terms of news, data from the China Iron and Steel Association shows that as of the end of September, the China Steel Price Index (CSPI) long product index was 94.02 points, increased by 1.28 points month-on-month, up 1.38%; the CSPI plate index was 90.43 points, decreased by 0.63 points month-on-month, down 0.69%; compared with the same period last year, the CSPI long product index and plate index decreased by 0.14 points and 2.40 points, respectively, down 0.15% and 2.59%.
