Rare Earth Prices - September 14, 2026

Rare earth market update on September 14, 2026

At the beginning of the week, the overall center of gravity of domestic rare earth prices showed no significant changes, mainly attributable to suppliers' low willingness to reduce prices for shipments and buyers' limited acceptance of high-priced sources.

Today, the prices of praseodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, erbium oxide, and dysprosium-iron alloy were consolidating at around RMB 772,000/ton, RMB 883,000/ton, RMB 675,000/ton, and RMB 1,400,000/ton, respectively.

From the perspective of bullish factors, first, affected by strong production cost support and limited increases in spot market supply, suppliers generally have strong willingness to hold back sales and support prices; second, with the arrival of the traditional consumption peak season, downstream inquiry and purchasing enthusiasm has rebounded. From the perspective of bearish factors, against the background of a complex and changing macroeconomic situation and tight working capital for downstream rare earth enterprises, market demand is relatively weak.

In terms of news, customs data shows that in August 2026, China's rare earth imports were 6,861.7 tons, decreased by 27.40% month-on-month and increased by 36.67% year-on-year; the import value was RMB 940 million, decreased by 23.58% month-on-month and increased by 18.99% year-on-year. During the same period, China's rare earth exports were 4,735.1 tons, increased by 12.11% month-on-month and decreased by 18.26% year-on-year; the export value was RMB 500 million, increased by 42.86% month-on-month and increased by 28.21% year-on-year.
