Rare Earth Market - September 10, 2026

Rare earth market update on September 10, 2026

The overall domestic rare earth market was relatively weak. Under the interplay of multiple bullish and bearish factors, the mindsets of light and heavy rare earth suppliers perged somewhat, mainly manifested in declining praseodymium-neodymium prices and stable dysprosium-terbium prices.

Today, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal decreased by approximately RMB 1,000/ton and RMB 2,000/ton, respectively, while the prices of terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide were approximately RMB 6,730,000/ton and RMB 1,440,000/ton, respectively.

From the perspective of bullish factors, affected by factors such as frequent extreme weather, frequent natural disasters, widespread aging of mines, and stricter environmental supervision, the production of some rare earth mining and smelting and separation enterprises has been restricted to a certain extent. Coupled with limited imports of overseas rare earth products, most holders have low willingness to make price concessions. From the perspective of bearish factors, against the background of no expectation of significant price increases in raw materials, tight working capital for downstream enterprises, and relatively ample raw material supply, market demand is relatively low.

In terms of news, data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in August 2026, the national producer price index for industrial products increased by 0.4% month-on-month, and the purchasing price index for industrial producers increased by 0.3% month-on-month. Among them, in the producer price index for industrial products, prices in the mining industry increased by 2.7%, the raw material industry increased by 0.8%, and the processing industry remained flat; in the purchasing price index for industrial producers, prices of fuel and power materials increased by 1.4%, non-ferrous metal materials and wires increased by 0.8%, ferrous metal materials decreased by 0.6%, and chemical raw materials decreased by 0.4%.
