Rare earth market update on September 2, 2026
Domestic rare earth prices showed localized stability with minor inpidual increases, among which the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide and erbium oxide increased by approximately RMB 2,000/ton and RMB 5,000/ton, respectively. However, actual transaction volumes did not increase significantly, and the future price trend remains unclear.
According to CTIA GROUP, the factors currently supporting suppliers' quotations are: first, approaching the traditional "Golden September and Silver October" consumption peak season, most magnet enterprises have increased their willingness to stockpile, with more purchases at low prices; second, against the background of stricter rare earth mining controls, frequent high-temperature and rainy weather, and strong environmental supervision have led to production cuts by some rare earth mining and smelting and separation enterprises, thereby supporting quotations; third, the long-term development of emerging industries such as new energy vehicles, wind power, and industrial robots is improving, providing stable demand support for rare earth functional materials.
In terms of news: Xiamen Tungsten achieved operating revenue of RMB 35.014 billion in the first half of 2026, increased by 81.70% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company of RMB 2.201 billion, increased by 127.04% year-on-year; and basic earnings per share of RMB 1.3862. Among them, the company's rare earth business achieved operating revenue of RMB 4.355 billion, increased by 51.50% year-on-year; and total profit of RMB 145 million, increased by 101.41% year-on-year.
