I. Analysis of China's rare earth price market in August 2026
According to CTIA GROUP, in August 2026, the price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products in China showed slight pergence: praseodymium-neodymium prices fluctuated downward but rebounded at the end of the month; dysprosium-terbium prices fell first and then rose, with prices at the end of the month higher than at the beginning of the month.

In August, the price of praseodymium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 29,000/ton, down 3.63%; the price of neodymium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 29,000/ton, down 3.65%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 20,000/ton, down 2.67%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal decreased by approximately RMB 26,000/ton, down 2.87%; the price of terbium oxide increased by approximately RMB 20/kg, up 0.30%; the price of dysprosium oxide increased by approximately RMB 50,000/ton, up 3.55%; and the price of dysprosium-iron alloy increased by approximately RMB 50,000/ton, up 3.55%.
In the first ten days, affected by factors such as downstream demand falling short of expectations and suppliers' strong willingness to exchange price for orders, prices of praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium, and terbium series products declined to varying degrees; in the last ten days, as the traditional consumption off-season approached its end, coupled with rare earth prices being at relatively low levels and low remaining raw material inventory of downstream production enterprises, market inquiries increased, prompting suppliers to raise quotations.
