Rare Earth Prices - August 3, 2026

Rare earth market update on August 3, 2026

Domestic rare earth prices showed localized stability with minor inpidual increases, among which the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal both increased by approximately RMB 2,000/ton, mainly due to strong production cost support, limited increases in spot market supply, and good development trends in downstream rare earth industries, prompting suppliers to maintain firm quotations.

However, downstream demand fell short of expectations, resulting in relatively small price increases, a light purchasing and selling atmosphere in the market, and relatively few actual transactions.

In terms of news, data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in July 2026, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was 49.2%, decreased by 1.1 percentage points from the previous month. By enterprise size, the PMI for large, medium, and small enterprises was 49.5%, 49.7%, and 47.4%, respectively, decreased by 1.2, 0.8, and 0.8 percentage points from the previous month. By sub-index, the production index was 49.9%, decreased by 1.5 percentage points from the previous month; the new orders index was 48.5%, decreased by 2.7 percentage points from the previous month; and the raw material inventory index was 48.3%, decreased by 0.1 percentage point from the previous month.
