Rare earth market update on July 22, 2026

The overall domestic rare earth market maintained a weak operation, mainly manifested in price declines of most products to varying degrees, low willingness of traders to enter the market, and few new orders.

Recently, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, and terbium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 6,000/ton, RMB 7,000/ton, and RMB 50,000/ton, respectively. However, it is worth mentioning that due to tight supply of erbium series products and increased downstream inquiries, the price of erbium oxide has continued to rise significantly recently. At present, the price of erbium oxide has increased to RMB 620,000/ton.

In terms of news, in the first half of 2026, China's gross domestic product (GDP) was RMB 69,570.4 billion, calculated at constant prices, increased by 4.7% year-on-year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was RMB 3,152.2 billion, increased by 3.7% year-on-year, contributing 3.7% to economic growth; the added value of the secondary industry was RMB 25,047.3 billion, increased by 3.9% year-on-year, contributing 30.2% to economic growth; the added value of the tertiary industry was RMB 41,370.9 billion, increased by 5.2% year-on-year, contributing 66.1% to economic growth, 5.9 percentage points higher than the same period of the previous year. The proportions of the added value of the three industries in GDP were 4.5%, 36.0%, and 59.5%, respectively.
