Rare Earth Prices - July 8, 2026

Rare earth market update on July 8, 2026

Domestic rare earth prices were generally consolidating within a narrow range, with the prices of praseodymium oxide, terbium oxide, and dysprosium oxide at approximately RMB 820,000/ton, RMB 6,550,000/ton, and RMB 1,420,000/ton, respectively.

According to CTIA GROUP, although downstream demand has been below expectations in the long term, due to factors such as strong efforts in environmental protection and anti-illegal-mining campaigns, as well as frequent high temperatures and rainy weather, the output of some molybdenum mining enterprises has been reduced. Coupled with limited imports of overseas rare earth products, the spot market supply remained relatively tight. In addition, the rapid development of downstream rare earth industries has also supported suppliers' confidence in maintaining prices to a certain extent.

In terms of news, from January to May 2026, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region increased by 5.9% year-on-year, 0.3 percentage points faster than the first four months. By the three major categories, the added value of the mining industry increased by 4.8%, the manufacturing industry increased by 8.4%, and the production and supply industries of electricity, heat, gas, and water increased by 3.9%. Industrial upgrading continued to accelerate, with the added value of the modern coal chemical industry increasing by 18.6%, the equipment manufacturing industry increasing by 22.5%, and the high-tech manufacturing industry increasing by 13.1%.
