Tungsten is an important mineral resources in China. Tungsten deposits are usually associated with sulfide such as copper, molybdenum and bismuth. These sulfide ore, classified as mixed sulfide minerals in the separation process, are the main materials of comprehensive recycling of associated metal.
In the tungsten mineral processing, the separation of sulfide ore from tungsten is necessary. It is really difficult to separate and recover the copper and bismuth in sulfide ore are, as copper and bismuth are granular and low in content. The order of recycling can affect the recovery efficiency, and mines all have their own separation method since conditions are different. Here is a brief introduction to the commonly used recycling method.

The separation of copper and bismuth is really a headache in the recovery of tungsten associated minerals. There are 3 kinds of common method: mixed flotation - floating bismuth and restraining copper; mixed flotation - floating copper and restraining bismuth; preferential flotation - floating copper and restraining bismuth.
Once floated, chemicals remaining and the environment in the ore pulp become more complicated, making it more difficult to separate and recovery. For maximum benefit, the first general election is usually that who can produce the most economic benefit and minimal effect on subsequent flotation.
After practice, a Fujian scheelite mine found that the preferential flotation - floating copper and restraining bismuth has best benefit to the mine. In the experiment, researchers float copper and restrain bismuth first, and then float bismuth. Results are: copper concentrate grade was 25.03% with the recovery rate of 93.93%, of which the loss rate of bismuth was 7.08%; bismuth concentrate grade was 15.08% with the recovery rate of 79.42%, of the loss rate of copper was 1.84%. This scheme realized the Cu-Bi Cyanide-free Separation, which has a good reference for similar tungsten mines in the separation of associated sulfide minerals.
