Tungsten Ore Flotation Organic Inhibitor – Sodium Humate

In tungsten ore flotation, organic inhibitor can be divided into macromolecule organic inhibitor and micromolecle organic inhibitor. In recent years, organic inhibitor has diverse structure, has good selectivity for mineral, and is environmental friendly. Organic inhibitor has special function for gangue, so it is used to take place of sodium silicate.

Sodium humate is a kind of macromolecule organic weak acid sodium salt with various functions made by weathered coal, peat and lignite, it has complex structure and black appearance, non-toxic, odorless, non-corrosive and easily soluble in water.

Sodium humate has wide application field, can be used as selective flocculation agent and inhibitor in industry. During flotation process, sodium humate can be used to inhibit sulfide ore, can inhibit calcite, fluorite, garnet, chlorite, apatite and so on. It has been found that during flotation process of using sodium oleate as collecting agent, sodium humate can be attached on the surface of fluorite and calcite in ion and molecular form and lower solubility of mineral, reduce active center for collecting agent attachment. Apart from that, when sodium humate reacts with quartz, it can reacts with Fe3+ on the surface, Fe-0 bond will crack to achieve inhibiting function.

Compared to other macromolecule inhibitor, sodium humate has wide application field. Since it is environmental friendly, non-toxic, has wide resource, low producing cost and high standard. At the same time, the agent can simplify process and is suitable for scale production.
