Analysis of Latest Rare Earth Market from Chinatungsten Online
China’s rare earth market is currently exhibiting a mixed performance, with prices diverging across different segments: some light rare earth products continue to see price declines, while heavy rare earth prices remain stable with slight upward movement. Today, the price of neodymium oxide fell by approximately RMB 5,000/ton, whereas the price of holmium oxide rose by about RMB 5,000/ton.
According to China Tungsten Online, demand from downstream sectors, such as new energy and electric motors, has fallen short of expectations. Consequently, magnetic material manufacturers are primarily purchasing on an as-needed basis, showing little inclination to build up large inventories. Meanwhile, with relatively ample spot supplies of raw materials and a generally weak market outlook regarding future price increases, traders are adopting a cautious approach, largely selling in line with prevailing market rates. Nevertheless, the potential for further price declines is limited, as producers aim to avoid a situation where costs exceed returns.
