Rare earth market update on July 27, 2026

On Monday, domestic rare earth prices showed localized stability with minor inpidual adjustments, among which the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 2,000/ton, the price of gadolinium oxide decreased by approximately RMB 3,000/ton, and the price of erbium oxide increased by approximately RMB 5,000/ton.

In the short term, low willingness of downstream users to inquire and purchase and insufficient motivation for suppliers to raise prices caused product prices to face pressure both upward and downward; in the long term, the rapid development of emerging industries and the difficulty of increasing future rare earth supply are expected to heat up the future rare earth market.

In terms of news, data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to June 2026, industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide achieved a total profit of RMB 3,947.99 billion, increased by 18.7% year-on-year. Among them, profits in the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 99.4% year-on-year; the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 96.9%; the chemical raw material and chemical product manufacturing industry increased by 67.8%; the general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 1.5%; the special equipment manufacturing industry decreased by 0.1%; the electricity, heat production, and supply industry decreased by 6.2%; the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry decreased by 8.6%; the automobile manufacturing industry decreased by 19.5%; the ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry decreased by 25.0%; and the non-metallic mineral products industry decreased by 47.8%.
