Rare earth market update on June 24, 2026
The overall domestic rare earth market is relatively good. Against the background of stable downstream demand and strong sentiment among suppliers to hold back goods and firm up prices, mainstream product prices show a phenomenon of being easy to rise but hard to fall, but there is still considerable room for growth in actual transaction volume.
Today, the prices of praseodymium oxide, gadolinium oxide, and erbium oxide are approximately RMB 820,000/ton, RMB 230,000/ton, and RMB 475,000/ton, respectively.
According to CTIA GROUP, the development prospects of downstream rare earth industries are good, domestic rare earth imports are hindered, production increases by domestic rare earth manufacturers are limited, foreign rare earth supply is tightening, and overseas rare earth prices are higher than domestic rare earth prices. Multiple factors jointly support suppliers' firm quotations.
In terms of news: On June 22, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce added 10 U.S. entities to the export control list, including two rare earth companies: MP Materials and USA Rare Earth Company, and took the following measures: 1. Export operators are prohibited from exporting dual-use items to the above 10 entities, and organizations and inpiduals from any country or region are prohibited from transferring or providing dual-use items originating from China to the above entities; relevant export activities currently underway shall be immediately stopped. 2. Under special circumstances where export is indeed necessary, the export operator shall submit an application to the Ministry of Commerce.
