Rare earth market update on March 3, 2026
Domestic rare earth prices have generally shown a trend of high-level corrections, with prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, terbium oxide, and dysprosium alloy decreasing by approximately RMB 20,000 per ton, RMB 30,000 per ton, RMB 100,000 per ton, and RMB 40,000 per ton, respectively.
Industry insiders generally believe that the price decline is a normal market adjustment, mainly due to the rapid rise in prices of mainstream products in a short period, while downstream demand has been slow to catch up. Previously, factors such as tightening praseodymium-neodymium raw material supply, the strategic value of rare earths becoming more prominent, and the industry’s high expectations for the future market led to strong speculative sentiment among suppliers, who raised product prices accordingly.
According to CTIA GROUP LTD statistics, as of the time of publication, the price of praseodymium oxide has increased by approximately RMB 324,000 per ton, an increase of 52.60%; the price of neodymium oxide has increased by approximately RMB 322,000 per ton, an increase of 52.53%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide has increased by approximately RMB 266,000 per ton, an increase of 43.82%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal has increased by approximately RMB 330,000 per ton, an increase of 44.59%; the price of terbium oxide has increased by approximately RMB 450,000 per ton, an increase of 7.50%; the price of dysprosium oxide has increased by approximately RMB 240,000 per ton, an increase of 17.91%; the price of dysprosium alloy has increased by approximately RMB 270,000 per ton, an increase of 20.93%.
