Analysis of Latest Tungsten Market from Chinatungsten Online
On Monday, Chinese tungsten prices remained weak; the market was characterized by a standoff and a wait-and-see attitude, with sluggish trading activity.
The tungsten raw material market is under evident pressure, caught between weak demand and divergent market sentiment, with liquidity remaining low. On one hand, downstream cemented carbide and product manufacturers are limiting purchases to immediate needs, showing little willingness to actively build inventory. On the other hand, upstream holders are balancing cost and capital pressures, leading to relatively softer price quotes.
The tungsten scrap market has seen a localized rebound from the bottom, though the sustainability of this trend remains to be seen. Holders are reluctant to sell at low prices, as it is difficult to absorb the costs of positions established at previous highs, and the residual value of used alloys has fallen short of expectations. Meanwhile, influenced by bearish sentiment from the raw material sector and limited downstream consumption momentum, recyclers are unwilling to purchase at high prices.
