European Ammonium Paratungstate (APT) Prices Rise - March 30, 2026

Analysis of Latest Tungsten Market from Chinatungsten Online

Tungsten prices remained stable on Monday, with market supply and demand at a stalemate and transactions primarily driven by immediate needs. However, continued strength in international tungsten prices, coupled with a slight rebound in the scrap tungsten market over the weekend, provided some support to market sentiment.

In the tungsten concentrate market, the complex international economic situation and geopolitical risks continued to escalate, with risk aversion remaining dominant and expectations of a tight supply chain persisting. Although short-term profit-taking pressure caused some price fluctuations, the medium- to long-term market outlook remains firm.

65% wolframite concentrate was priced at RMB 1.005,000/ton, down 4.3% from its peak, but up 118.5% from the beginning of the year.

65% scheelite concentrate was priced at RMB 1.004,000/ton, down 4.3% from its peak, but up 118.7% from the beginning of the year.

In the ammonium paratungstate (APT) market, solid cost support, coupled with international market trends, resulted in relatively firm overall prices, with trading remaining cautious and wait-and-see.

Domestic APT was priced at RMB 1.480,000/ton, down 2.6% from their peak, but up 120.9% from the beginning of the year.

European APT was priced at USD 2,800-3,150/mtu (equivalent to RMB 1.713-1.927 million/ton), up 223.4% from the beginning of the year.

In the tungsten powder market, the willingness to adjust prices in this round was relatively limited. Export business was subject to strict review, while domestic circulation was carried out on an as-needed basis, resulting in limited market activity. The focus of competition among upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain was on cost transmission and the pace of inventory digestion, making significant fluctuations in the short term unlikely.

Tungsten powder was priced at RMB 2,360/kg, down 1.7% from their peak, but up 118.5% from the beginning of the year.

Tungsten carbide powder was priced at RMB 2,300/kg, down 1.7% from their peak, but up 121.2% from the beginning of the year.

Cobalt powder was priced at RMB 580/kg, up 11.5% from the beginning of the year.

In the ferrotungsten market, prices are mainly driven by cost changes and remain stable, with limited purchasing activity from consumers.

70% ferrotungsten was priced at RMB 1.400,000/ton, down 1.4% from its peak, but up 115.4% from the beginning of the year.

European ferrotungsten was priced at USD 320-330/kg W (equivalent to RMB 1.548-1.597 million/ton), up 136.4% from the beginning of the year.

In the tungsten scrap market, influenced by stable raw material prices and limited willingness among recyclers to lower prices to reduce inventory, some areas have seen increased willingness to stabilize prices after profit-taking and panic selling, leading to a slight upward shift in the upper limit of the overall price range.

Scrap tungsten rods were priced at RMB 1080/kg, down 21.2% from its peak, but up 80.0% from the beginning of the year.

Scrap tungsten drill bits were priced at RMB 1050/kg, down 23.4% from its peak, but up 81.0% from the beginning of the year.
