Tungsten Waste and Scrap Prices Decline - March 16, 2026

Analysis of Latest Tungsten Market from Chinatungsten Online

On Monday, tungsten product prices traded sideways under pressure, as the market underwent a self-correction and stress test following a sustained and significant unilateral price surge.

On the one hand, downstream consumption was affected by the lag in cost transmission, and end-users still needed time to digest the high raw material prices, resulting in a significant slowdown in procurement. Actual transactions were mainly for replenishing inventory to meet immediate needs. On the other hand, non-consumer positions previously driven by speculative funds saw profit-taking, coupled with some holding onto inventory in anticipation of further price increases, leading to a divergence of opinions between bulls and bears and a slight easing of the supply-demand balance.

Overall, sentiment in the tungsten raw material market is shifting from extreme optimism to rationality. The fervor for chasing high prices has cooled, but the willingness to sell remains cautious, with participants waiting for clearer directional signals.

The tungsten waste and scrap market experienced a temporary sell-off. Influenced by holders' increased desire to secure profits, market recycling quotes adjusted downwards, with varying degrees of downward adjustment. Currently, there is a significant divergence in the psychological price levels of buyers and sellers, with increased tentative inquiries but limited actual trading activity.
