Analysis of Latest Tungsten Market from Chinatungsten Online
Tungsten prices experienced their first sideways movement since the 2026 Spring Festival. Downstream end-users had limited capacity to absorb the rapid increase in short-term costs, leading to accumulating market risk aversion and a strong wait-and-see attitude among buyers, resulting in reduced market activity.
Meanwhile, in the tungsten scrap market, some participants chose to take profits due to accumulated gains, further exacerbating market caution.
Despite this, raw material holders maintained a bullish long-term value view based on the scarcity and strategic attributes of tungsten resources. While there was some demand for profit-taking, the overall willingness to lower prices was limited. In the current volatile and hesitant market environment, liquidity in the industry chain was tight.
Yesterday, a company in Luoyang held a public auction for 210 tons of modified tungsten concentrate with an average WO3 grade of ≥22%. 30 tons were sold at the starting price of RMB 16,100/mtu (equivalent to RMB 1.046 million/ton), while the rest failed to sell.
In the tungsten scrap market, panic selling has increased recently, but recyclers' willingness to purchase has weakened significantly. Some participants with optimistic long-term value judgments are choosing to buy at lower prices. The current market is experiencing increased divergence in operational logic, leading to a price correction.
