Analysis of Latest Tungsten Market from Chinatungsten Online
This week, China's tungsten market generally showed a trend of initial rise followed by stabilization. At the beginning of the week, the strong upward momentum since 2026 continued, supported by long-term quotation from major tungsten producers. Later, with the Spring Festival holiday approaching, market activity gradually weakened, and tungsten prices shifted from a rapid rise to a period of high-level consolidation.
International tungsten prices maintained strong upward momentum. This was due, on the one hand, to supply chain shortages. As the source of 80% of global tungsten resources, China's export controls and crackdowns on illegal mining, along with reduced production and logistics capacity during the Spring Festival, made it more difficult to procure raw materials overseas. Tungsten resource projects outside of China are unlikely to fill this supply gap in the short term. On the other hand, it was due to chasing price increases caused by the lag between international and domestic prices.
