Ammonium Paratungstate Price Exceeds RMB One Million - February 9, 2026

In the last trading week before the Spring Festival, the tungsten market continued its tight supply and high price trend.

Ammonium paratungstate (APT) prices officially broke through the RMB 1 million per ton! Against the backdrop of scarce ore resources, firm costs, and limited smelter production, tungsten prices continued their upward trend. Meanwhile, tungsten waste and scrap, driven by high raw material prices, has returned to historical highs after a brief correction last week.

However, tungsten market transactions have become increasingly sluggish due to rising costs, the approaching holiday, and reduced stockpiling, resulting in a strong wait-and-see attitude in the market.

As of press time,

65% wolframite concentrate was priced at RMB 685,000/ton, up 48.9% from the beginning of the year.

65% scheelite concentrate was priced at RMB 684,000/ton, up 49.0% from the beginning of the year.

Ammonium paratungstate (APT) was priced at RMB 1 million/ton, up 49.3% from the beginning of the year.

European APT was priced at USD 1200-1550/mtu (equivalent to RMB 736,000-951,000/ton), up 49.5% from the beginning of the year.

Tungsten powder was priced at RMB 1670/kg, up 54.6% from the beginning of the year.

Tungsten carbide powder was priced at RMB 1620/kg, up 55.8% from the beginning of the year.

Cobalt powder was priced at RMB 580/kg, up 11.5% from the beginning of the year.

70% ferrotungsten was priced at RMB 940,000/ton, up 44.6% from the beginning of the year.

European ferrotungsten was priced at USD 182-189/kg W (equivalent to RMB 883,000-917,000/ton), up 34.9% from the beginning of the year.

Scrap tungsten rods were priced at RMB 860/kg, up 43.3% from the beginning of the year.

Scrap tungsten drill bits were priced at RMB 830/kg, up 43.1% from the beginning of the year.
