Tungsten Powder Price Surges to RMB 1400/kg - January 28, 2026

Analysis of Latest Tungsten Market from Chinatungsten Online

The tungsten market is currently in a chaotic and sensitive phase, with pricing behavior by holders and traders becoming increasingly disorderly, and the mainstream price spread widening significantly.

The driving force behind this week's tungsten price increases came partly from the price hikes of long-term contracts by major tungsten producers. While these prices themselves did not exceed the mainstream market range, they still boosted sentiment. The greater driving force stemmed from market hoarding and speculation. Factors such as resource supply constraints and the strengthening of strategic attributes led holders to be generally unwilling to release goods at low prices, while some traders took advantage of the situation to push up their quotes.

With the Spring Festival holiday approaching, the chaotic situation in the tungsten market exacerbated the wait-and-see attitude and weak sentiment among downstream end-users. Spot trading was sluggish, with most transactions focused on rigid demand or fulfilling long-term contracts, resulting in insufficient market liquidity.
