The Catalytic Performance of Tungsten Trioxide Analysis

Tungsten trioxide is an important catalytic active material, WO3 can decide catalyst and do the assistant catalyst.

It is found that pure WO3 is hardly catalyzed because of its lack of metals. In general, pure WO3 is partially reduced or doped with active components or modified to improve its catalytic performance. WO3 is attached to oxides such as Al2O3, TiO2, ZrO2, Nb2O5 and CeO2. The catalytic performance and physical and chemical properties of WO3 are affected by the calcination temperature, preparation method, etc., and can be used in the chemical industry instead of the strong acid catalyst and can be used for the photocatalytic degradation of environmental protection industry.

There will be a variety of WO3 crystal structure in the process of formation, such as monoclinic, orthorhombic and cubic etc.. The crystal structure obtained by different methods will be different in different properties. WO3 is generally believed that the highest catalytic activity for monoclinic, nano tungsten trioxide is the strongest catalytic activity of crystal plate.

Tungsten trioxide as a raw material for the tungsten-based catalyst has a good acid-forming properties can be applied to the isomerization of paraffins, the most important is n-octane into gasoline. In recent years, Pd, Pt, Ni and other active components have been added to WO3 oxide and modified by WO3, which greatly improves the reactivity and stability of the catalyst. Meanwhile, it is found that it has high selectivity for the isomerization of alkane, and W20O58 phase is formed during the reaction.

Photocatalytic catalysis is a new development in recent 20 years, there are many different semiconductor materials as photocatalysts, due to lack of WO3 metal properties cannot play activity. Because tungsten trioxide usually releases its catalytic activity by reduction doping of other metals, the most common tungsten-based photocatalysts are zinc tungstate, bismuth tungstate, or WO3 / TiO2 composite catalysts, all of which are good players for degradation of waste water and purification of the environment. Tungsten trioxide as photocatalyst has also been the main material for many years of practical verification, not only safe, but also low operating and installation costs; no sludge, is an important raw material for purification of green homes.
