Rare Earth Prices - August 6, 2026

Rare earth market update on August 6, 2026

Domestic rare earth prices overall showed a general downward trend, among which the price of neodymium oxide decreased by RMB 10,000/ton, the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal decreased by RMB 7,000/ton, the price of terbium oxide decreased by RMB 50,000/ton, and the price of holmium oxide decreased by RMB 6,000/ton.

Affected by the recent volatile downward trend in raw material prices, the prices of rare earth permanent magnet materials and their scrap also declined, such as the price of 55N NdFeB blank blocks and NdFeB scrap (praseodymium-neodymium) decreasing by approximately RMB 2/kg and RMB 5/kg, respectively.

According to CTIA GROUP, affected by factors such as the traditional consumption off-season, ample spot inventory, and generally weak expectations for the future market, downstream demand performance was relatively soft. Against this backdrop, suppliers generally had high panic sentiment, coupled with their own tight working capital, and the mentality of exchanging price for volume in the market intensified.

In terms of news, on August 5, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce announced strengthened export controls on drones and related dual-use items to the United States. For drones and their key components and related technologies listed in the "Export Control List of Dual-Use Items of the People's Republic of China," exports to the United States will be subject to strict case-by-case review, and license facilitation measures will not apply.
