Rare Earth Market - February 24, 2026

Rare earth market update on February 24, 2026

The domestic rare earth market overall continued the stable operation from before the holiday, mainly due to the Spring Festival holiday just ending, with buyers and sellers not yet fully resuming normal trading rhythm, resulting in no obvious changes in product prices and relatively low transaction volume.

Today, praseodymium-neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, terbium oxide, and dysprosium oxide prices consolidated at approximately RMB 855,000/ton, RMB 1,030,000/ton, RMB 6,450,000/ton, and RMB 1,480,000/ton respectively. According to CTIA GROUP LTD, some spot supply in the market is currently relatively tight, combined with a high probability of increased downstream demand after the holiday, so the rare earth market is expected to warm up.

On the news front: Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that in January 2026, China's automobile production and sales completed 2.45 million units and 2.346 million units respectively, with production increased by 0.01% year-on-year and sales decreased by 3.2% year-on-year. Among them, new energy vehicle production and sales completed 1.041 million units and 945,000 units respectively, increased by 2.5% and 0.1% year-on-year respectively, with new energy vehicle sales reaching 40.3% of total new automobile sales. In January, automobile exports totaled 681,000 units, increased by 44.9% year-on-year; new energy vehicle exports totaled 302,000 units, increased by 1 time year-on-year.
