Rare Earth Market - January 27, 2026

Rare earth market update on January 27, 2026

The domestic rare earth market overall showed a relatively chaotic trend. Amid the interplay of bullish and bearish factors, price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products perged: praseodymium-neodymium prices rose significantly, while dysprosium-terbium prices operated weakly.

Today, praseodymium-neodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by approximately RMB 15,000/ton and RMB 40,000/ton respectively, while terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices consolidated around RMB 6,300,000/ton and RMB 1,420,000/ton respectively.

In the light rare earth market, affected by tightening spot supply of raw materials, strong production cost support, increased downstream inquiries, and relatively strong reluctance among suppliers to sell while holding bullish sentiment, prices of mainstream light rare earth products rose significantly. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, a strong wait-and-see atmosphere prevailed overall. Against the background of weak supply and demand on both sides and favorable trends in the light rare earth market, product prices showed a situation of difficulty in rising or falling, with relatively stable trends.

On the news front: Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in 2025, the mining industry nationwide achieved total profits of RMB 834.51 billion, decreased by 26.2% compared to the previous year; the manufacturing industry achieved total profits of RMB 5,691.57 billion, increased by 5.0%; the electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply industry achieved total profits of RMB 872.12 billion, increased by 9.4%.
