How to prepare ammonium paratungstate? At present, ion exchange method and extraction method are mainly used to produce ammonium paratungstate (APT) by domestic manufacturers.

The researchers proposed a preparation method of high-purity ammonium paratungstate. This process optimizes the original high-purity APT production process and reduces production costs.

Single-crystal ammonium paratungstate has a wide application as it has good fluidity, excellent tensile resistance and fracture resistance. And therefore single-crystal APT is used to prepare tungsten powder, high-performance tungsten materials such as tungsten wire, weights, armor bombs, micro-drills, and CNC blades, etc.

Single-crystal ammonium paratungstate has properties of good fluidity, high bulk density, small and uniform grain gaps in the blank, few mechanical defects and high compaction density. It also has excellent physical properties such as good compression resistance, tensile resistance, impact resistance, shear resistance and fracture strength. Therefore, single-crystal ammonium paratungstate is an ideal raw material for the production of high-performance tungsten materials such as tungsten powder, tungsten wire, tungsten carbide microdrill, tungsten carbide tool, and tungsten alloy ammunition.

Spherical ultrafine ammonium paratungstate, or spherical single crystal ultrafine ammonium paratungstate (APT), is the key powder material for fabricating high-density alloys with high performance. More specifically, the spherical ultrafine APT is calcined to obtain tungsten oxide, and spherical tungsten powder is prepared after hydrogen reduction of tungsten oxide. The prepared spherical W powder has the advantages of high bulk density, good fluidity and easy filling of film cavity. Also, it makes the compact have uniform density. So it can be used to produce high performance tungsten-based alloy, with the characteristics of high density, good elongation, high yield and tensile strength.

Ammonium paratungstate is an important material for preparing ammonium metatungstate by a thermal decomposition - resin exchange method. This method overcomes the problems of some traditional processes such as APT - tungstic acid method, APT - acidification - alcohol precipitation method, and APT thermal decomposition - alcoholization crystallization method, etc. It has the advantages of simple process, high single pass yield and excellent product quality.

What is the solubility of ammonium paratungstate? The more common question is - "Is ammonium paratungstate soluble in water?" or "Is APT soluble in water?"
